How to get Leadership Buy-in?

A journey toward an SoR System doesn’t really begin without all leaders on board.

  1. Discussion Tool - One of the most glaring absences in the journey toward building systems around structured literacy are simple, transparent conversations between the SuperIntendent, CAO, Director of Teaching and Learning and the Literacy Director (or like roles in an organization.) This template is the suggested discussion this group should do twice a year and email templates to suggest to the team.

  2. Talk about it - If you are hitting roadblocks on getting the right leaders on the same page to build initial momentum, hit the pages below for advice.

  3. Get Examples - It can be done! Listen to these podcasts and her some elements where leaders came together to start building systems.

  4. Get Background Research - Here are a few light resources to get started on working through what leadership really looks like for an urgent dedication to SoR.

  5. Find Experts and Working Groups - Everyone needs a coach and we link coaching, consulting and working group/community opportunities below.
