How to engage your community early to grow SoR?

Engaging your community early to understand what a full dedication to the Science of Reading across the district and broader community means about

  1. Get an Engagement Checklist - Work through this engagement checklist to determine what steps you will take in year and year two to make sure you are moving forward side by side with your broader community.

  2. Talk about it - If you are going to include embedded social media posts and/or discussion boards, intro this here

  3. Get Examples - If you are going to include examples from other literacy organizations include here.

  4. Get Templates - If we are providing a template, checklist or starting documents, include a picture of one document to the right and a link to that template or checklists. In the section below, provide additional documents, templates or instructions.

  5. Get Background Research - If there is specific research to this step or “prerequesite” research that leaders should have obtained, you can add here.

  6. Find Experts and Working Groups - Everyone needs a coach and we link coaching, consulting and working group/community opportunities below. (This section is standard, but if you have specific consultants or groups to this, you can adjust.
